Ever feel like this? You’re a human multi-tool…full of resources you might not even see.

Opening up isn’t about being broken; it’s about unfolding all the tools you already have to navigate life.

It’s tough, but it’s where connection and healing begin..

As a mental health practitioner, I often see how difficult it can be for people to “open up” about their feelings, struggles, or even just what they need.

If you’re feeling stuck or having trouble “opening up,” remember that’s a completely normal part of the process.

Help yourself to:

  • Lighten the load. Voicing your feelings is like setting down a heavy bag.
  • Discover your inner tools. You’ll often find strengths and resilience you never knew you had.
  • Build real connection. Vulnerability is the path to being truly known.
  • Get support. People can’t show up for you if they don’t know you need it.

If you’re wondering how to begin:

  • Start small. You don’t have to share everything. Just share one small feeling.
  • Find one safe person. Choose someone who has proven they’re a good listener.
  • Journal it first. Writing can help you understand your own feelings before you share them.
  • Own your feelings. Use “I” statements like “I feel overwhelmed and a bit sad right now” versus “This whole situation is terrible.”Β

My goal is to create that supportive environment…”
